About Me
Shira Kohn is a New York City-based womenswear designer with a passion for sustainable apparel. From an early age, Shira was captivated by fashion, which led her to earn her BFA in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). During her time at SCAD, she honed her skills through internships with companies such as Joeynelle and Kohl's.

She currently works at Macy's on the INC team, specializing in designing outerwear and bottoms. Her role has allowed her to hone her technical skills in hard wovens. While at Macy’s, she has applied her commitment to sustainability by being a co-lead for the colleague resource group. This group helped implementing initiatives like FABSCRAP, a program focused on textile waste reduction. During an 11 month time period Macy’s donated over 4000 pounds of fabric waste to FABSCRAP.

Shira’s dedication to sustainable fashion extends beyond her design work. She has earned certifications in Reporting in Sustainability and Sustainable Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). With her unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and environmental advocacy, Shira is committed to shaping a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.
